Liverpool have made an enquiry for Roma left-back Emerson, according to Football Italia.
The report claims that Liverpool have asked Roma about a potential deal for the defender, though no reply has come from Roma as yet.
The left-back is currently out injured, though, and will not return to action until October.
Emerson damaged his cruciate ligament in May and is still recovering, which could affect his decision to join the club.
The 23-year-old impressed for Roma in Italy last season and has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp, who is looking to bolster his squad.
Emerson can play at left-back or on the left of midfield, making him a versatile squad option for Klopp to have in his side for the season.
Liverpool already have three first-team players who can play at left-back; Alberto Moreno and James Milner were joined by Andrew Robertson this summer, who signed from Hull City.
