Liverpool make Ruben Neves move

Liverpool have informally approached the representatives of Porto starlet Ruben Neves, according to Ed Malyon of the Mirror.

This approach has been received well, says Malyon, and the Reds are confident that they can strike a deal.

The 18-year-old – who has been the subject of interest from many of Europe’s elite clubs – could become the best-paid teenager in world football if he were to make the move to Merseyside.

The Reds are, as per the Mirror, are the first potential suitor to make their interest known in the deep-lying midfielder.

In January, the same journalist claimed that Liverpool were watching the youngster, and he now says that they are monitoring the Portuguese more intensely.

Jorge Mendes, one of the most influential agents in the game, represents Neves, who played 31 games for Porto’s senior team last season, and has turned out five times thus far in 2015-16.

Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as Liverpool manager doesn’t appear to have changed the fact that the Anfield club are keen to recruit one of Europe’s hottest properties.
