Liverpool v Manchester United: Combined XI

Liverpool face old rivals Manchester United on Thursday in the Europa League round of 16 first leg at Anfield. This will be the first time these two teams have faced each other in European competition and there’s no doubt that this is the tie of the round in the Europa League this week.

Manchester United have won the last four meetings against their bitter rivals Liverpool, which will give them confidence going into the game.

Liverpool will be seeking revenge when they meet, desperate to ensure they stay in the hunt for a trophy this season.

United lost to West Brom last weekend whilst Liverpool beat Crystal Palace to make it three league wins in a row for the first time since March 2014.

Anfield will be bouncing come kick-off, with both sets of fans demanding a victory and claim the bragging rights .

I take a look at the best (currently fit) players from the two teams and put them into a combined XI. The formation I chose was a 4-2-3-1.
