Liverpool Player of the Month: October

The month of October is basically split into three parts, so it’s one of the hardest ones in recent memory to come up with a Player of the Month.

The games against FC Sion and Everton seem like a long time ago, what with all that has transpired since.

Even when the managerial change took place, the month looked as though it was going to peter out – and we all thought it’d be November that Liverpool would begin to kick on under Jurgen Klopp.

The win over Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup was a step in the right direction, but the dominant 3-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge completely changed the perception of October as far as results are concerned.

The Reds never lost a game all month, but it wasn’t until that sunny autumn early afternoon in west London that Klopp’s men sent a message to the rest of the country that Liverpool mean business again.

Here are the top five players of the month, in descending order.
