Liverpool player ratings: Chelsea (A)

Liverpool absorbed a second half onslaught from Chelsea to hold on to a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge and keep their winning start alive in the Premier League.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino scored in the first half to put the Reds into a commanding position. But a N’Golo Kante strike in the second half did make things interesting till the final whistle.

After making a good start to the game, Liverpool took the lead in the 14th minute after Trent rifled his effort in after a well-worked free-kick at the edge of the Chelsea box.

The home side’s equaliser in the 28th minute was disallowed by VAR because of Mason Mount being offside. Few seconds later, Firmino headed the away side into a two-goal lead.

Chelsea came back into it after the break and Kante’s solo run and a shot into the top corner put Liverpool under a lot of pressure. However, they defended their box at the end and got the win.
