Liverpool Player Ratings: Everton (A)

A rather under-par Liverpool resumed their title charge with a goalless draw against Everton in one of the most boring Merseyside derbies ever at Goodison Park.

Both teams didn’t have a lot of chances to win the game, though the home side had the better of the exchange in the final third by hitting the post once.

Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson missing, started the game well with newcomer Takumi Minamino looking sharp and Naby Keita getting into stride well.

However, they struggled to breakthrough in the final third, much to the credit to the Everton back-line, who stood firm and closed the gaps very well.

Throughout the game, the Reds had half-chances coming their way, which they couldn’t take through Joel Matip, Roberto Firmino and Keita.

10 minutes from time, Everton had the biggest chance of the game, when Tom Davies hit the post after Alisson made a good save from Dominic Clavert Lewin’s shot.

All in all, a dull game but the good thing from Liverpool’s viewpoint is that they didn’t lose and are now one point closer to the title.

Here’s how we rated the Reds’ players:
