Liverpool Player Ratings: Genk (A)

Liverpool resumed their Champions League campaign with a comfortable 4-1 away at Genk and remain second in the group-stage table, behind Napoli.

An Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain brace, followed by goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah was enough for the Reds, while Stephen Odey pulled one back for the home side late on.

After a quick start to the game, Liverpool took the lead in the second minute when Oxlade-Chamberlain’s shot took a slightest of deflections into the back of the net.

Thereafter, Genk did have the ball into the back of the net, but VAR ruled that out due to their player being offside in the build-up.

Chamberlain doubled the away side’s lead in the 57th minute with a cute finish from outside his right boot. Then, Salah set up Mane for a goal and latter returned the compliment few minutes later.

Odey pulled one back two minutes from time, but that was just a mere consolation.
