Liverpool’s invincibility dreams were dashed after being humbled 3-0 by Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.
This defeat ended their 18-game winning streak and the 44-game unbeaten run in the top flight.
Ismaila Sarr netted a brace and set up the other up for Troy Deeney to defeat the European champions.
Coming back to the game, it was a bit of a pale watch in the first half, with the Hornets making it tough for the Reds while also creating chances at the other end.
Jurgen Klopp’s men began the second half well but conceded a sloppy goal from a throw-in in the 54th minute. Sarr was there to tuck in Deeney’s ball.
Six minutes later, from another throw-in, Liverpool switched off and Sarr ran in behind to score his second goal of the game.
Then, in the 72nd minute, a Trent Alexander-Arnold misplaced pass in his box teed it up for Sarr to assist Deeney’s first goal against the Reds.
For the away side, only Adam Lallana came close to scoring, when he smashed the post with a long-range effort. Other than that, a disappointing evening for the team.
Here’s how we rated the Reds…
