Liverpool equalled Manchester City’s record of winning 18 consecutive Premier League games by getting the better of West Ham United 3-2 at Anfield.
It wasn’t easy for Jurgen Klopp’s men though, as they had to come from behind to clinch the victory.
Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were the scorers for the Reds, while the Hammers scored through Issa Diop and Pablo Fornals.
After a typically fast start, Liverpool took the lead inside 10 minutes when Wijnaldum headed in a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross into the back of the net.
West Ham equalised soon after when a Robert Snodgrass corner was headed in by Diop.
The home side had possession and dominance after that, but they couldn’t get the second goal by half-time.
And a few minutes after the resumption, the away side got a goal when Declan Rice’s cross was expertly finished by Fornals.
At this moment, we were in for a shock at Anfield.
Normal service then resumed when Salah’s shot from Andy Robertson’s cutback squirmed past Lukasz Fabianski, and Mane tapped in from two yards out after some good work by Alexander-Arnold.
The Senegalese international had another goal to his name minutes before the 90, but it was rightly chalked off by VAR.
All in all, great resilience showed by this Liverpool team after a subpar performance until the hour mark.
Here’s how we rated the Reds after the game:
