Liverpool Player Ratings: Wolves (A)

Liverpool survived a massive scare and continued their remarkable winning run by beating Wolves 2-1 at Molineux on Thursday.

The dramatic victory means the Reds are 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand.

Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino scored the goals for Liverpool in either half, while Raul Jimenez equalised for Wolves in between.

After a controlled start to the game, Jurgen Klopp’s men took the lead in the 8th minute, when a Trent Alexander-Arnold corner was shouldered in by Henderson at the near post.

The away side had other chances to stretch their lead, but Mohamed Salah had two attempts blocked in the box. Meanwhile, Matt Doherty headed wide at the other end.

Wolves eventually equalised early in the second half when Adama Traore got in space to deliver a great cross for Jimenez to head in.

The aforementioned striker had a chance to put Wolves ahead moments later, but Alisson made a crucial save.

That stop turned out to be match-changing, as Firmino popped up with a goal five minutes from time to silence Molineux.

Diogo Jota had an opportunity to equalise late on, but he fluffed his lines.

All in all, it was a tough night for Liverpool, but they did just enough to win yet another game, edging closer to title glory in the process.

Here’s how we rated the players after the game…
