Liverpool are set to hijack Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s potential move to China this month.
According to The Mirror, Liverpool are interested in Aubameyang and are ready to make their move.
Aubameyang has been touted with a switch to China in recent weeks, with Guenghzou Evergrande and Beijing Guoan both said to be keen.
Liverpool, however, are also in the race and are looking to land the centre-forward to bolster their squad.
Borussia Dortmund are said to want a fee in the region of £63.5m, which is less than Liverpool spent on Virgil Van Dijk earlier this month.
Van Dijk joined the club for £75m from Southampton at the start of January, smashing the club’s record transfer.
Jurgen Klopp knows Aubameyang from his time managing Borussia Dortmund and would like a reunion with the striker in England.
The Gabon international has scored 21 goals for Dortmund this season and is rated as one of the best strikers in Europe.
