Clashes between Manchester United and Arsenal used to be the match neutrals looked out for every season, with the pair often vying for Premier League titles and possessing world class players.
Monday’s meeting at Old Trafford couldn’t have been further from that, however, as the two teams played out a horrendous 1-1 draw.
The quality on show was pitiful for much of proceedings, highlighting how much they have fallen and how wide gap now is between themselves and Liverpool.
Many supporters were watching events unfold and couldn’t help but mock the standard of football on Twitter.
Well this game is absolutely dreadful. #UTDARS

This game would be the perfect advert for why the top-six no longer exists. Absolutely no quality from either side. Liverpool and City are miles and miles ahead.

This is unbelievably low quality. Genuinely not saying it as a tribalism thing, it's just terrible.

It’s possible that the best quality match at Old Trafford this season could end up being Soccer Aid.

Read Liverpool Verdict
At the start of the season, there were genuinely a smattering or United and Arsenal fans who talked up the possibility of pushing for the title.
Monday’s game showed how far away they are from Liverpool and Manchester City, though.
Incredibly, United and Arsenal’s combined points tally this season is the same as the Reds’, which sums it up.
Isn’t it great to see Liverpool so superior rather than the way round, as was the case 20 years ago?
