Liverpool target Havertz to stay put at Bayer Leverkusen

Kai Havertz is set to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for the remainder of the season, acting as a potential blow to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 20-year-old is being monitored by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with many seeing him as the future of German football.

The Reds have been tipped to make a move for Havertz, with a January transfer not completely ruled out.

The midfielder has pledged his future to Leverkusen for the rest of the campaign, however, according to Sky Sports.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also seen as possible destinations for Havertz in the future, in what looks set to be a real battle for his signature.

A summer exit always felt more likely for Havertz, in truth, so this doesn’t act as too much of a blow for Liverpool.

It seems highly likely that the youngster will look for a fresh challenge in 2020/21, as he looks to take his game to the next level.

If the Reds manage to get a deal over the line for the £81 million-rated star, it would be an outstanding piece of business.
