Liverpool have been drawn away to Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Jurgen Klopp’s side won an incredible encounter against Arsenal on Wednesday night, booking their place in the last-eight in the process.
Anfield witnessed a remarkable 5-5 draw, in which the Reds trailed 3-1, 4-2 and 5-4 during the evening.
Divock Origi’s last-gasp strike took the game to penalties, where Liverpool won 5-4, with 18-year-old Curtis Jones firing home the winning spot-kick.
Villa stand between Klopp’s men and a place in the semi-final, having seen off Wolves on Wednesday evening.
The date of the tie hasn’t yet been confirmed, with the Liverpool manager threatening to boycott the Carabao Cup if it is played at an inconvenient time around Christmas.
That’s due to Liverpool’s Club World Cup commitments in Qatar.
Incidentally, the Reds travel to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, in another crucial Premier League encounter.
It is the first time the two sides have met since 2016, when Klopp’s side thumped the Villains 6-0 away from home.
