Liverpool willing to agree loan deal for Jones in January

Curtis Jones could leave Liverpool on loan in January, according to Goal‘s Neil Jones.

The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut last week, coming on in the second half of the Reds’ 3-0 win at Bournemouth.

The Under-23s captain has been in excellent form this season, going up a notch and scoring the winning penalty in the senior side’s Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal.

Despite this, he could join Rhian Brewster in temporarily moving away from Liverpool next month.

The report states that the club are “eager for the teenage stars to pick up senior experience.”

Swansea City are mentioned as a possible destination for both, while it is stressed than the pair are expected to feature in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Aston Villa next Tuesday.

A loan moves makes sense for Jones, who is at a point in his career where playing for the U23s is beneath him.

He could further grow as a player at a Championship club, earning regular football.

Jurgen Klopp has so many midfield options at his disposal that it is hard to see where he will earn game time for the Reds.
