Liverpool’s Summer Signings: Ratings

Liverpool were one of the busiest teams in this summer’s transfer window, mainly with players leaving than coming in.

The Reds spent £63.2 million on four players; Sadio Mane (£30 million), Georginio Wijnaldum (£25 million), Ragnar Klavan (£3.5 milion) and Loris Karius (£4.7 million). They also brought in Joel Matip on a free.

Matip, Mane and Wijnaldum have all nailed down their roles in Jurgen Klopp’s first team, whilst Karius and Klavan have both featured a number of times already for the club in both the League Cup and the Premier League respectively.

Liverpool have made a brilliant start to the season, winning five games, drawing one and losing one. The 2-0 defeat at Burnley has so far been the only poor performance this campaign. Liverpool have won away games at Arsenal and Chelsea, drawn away at Spurs and hammered both Leicester City and Hull City at home.

The Reds are now joint top goal scorers with Manchester City on 18 goals. James Milner is the current top scorer, from left-back, with four goals and then Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane have all scored three each also.

In this slideshow, all five of the major summer signings will be assessed out of 10 to see who has made the best start to life at Liverpool FC.
