Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Dejan Lovren will miss Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Watford on Saturday lunchtime, with no return date set.
The Reds host the struggling bottom-place Hornets this weekend, looking to continue their incredible form.
Lovren limped out of Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Salzburg on Tuesday evening, after suffering a muscle injury.
It leaves the Reds with only two fit centre-backs, with Joel Matip still sidelined, along with Fabinho.
That means Joe Gomez is expected to start alongside Virgil van Dijk this weekend – a centre-back pairing that looked superb in the early months of last season.

Lovren’s absence is an undoubted blow, after he had found a strong run of form at the heart of Liverpool’s defence.
It also suddenly leaves the Reds looking short at the back, ahead of a gruelling December schedule.
The 30-year-old may not return this year, depending on the severity of the injury, but Klopp needs both he and Matip back as soon as possible.
