Manchester City will have had a better season than Liverpool if they win the Champions League, according to Jamie O’Hara.
The Reds are on the cusp of winning the Premier League for the first time, but could struggle to get past Atetico Madrid and defend their European crown.
Meanwhile, City won at Real Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 tie and could still go all the way in the competition.
Speaking to talkSPORT, former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara made a bold claim about how Liverpool and City’s season could be viewed in May.
“Man City have had a better season that Liverpool if they win the #UCL.” 🏆
“There’s three trophies that City could win, that would be some season.” 👏 @MrJamieOHara1 says #ManCity could still end up having a better season than #LFC overall.

Read Liverpool Verdict
I don’t think Liverpool supporters will be bothered by what City achieve this season, considering the league title is all they have wanted for so long.
Of course, tribalism means it would be nice for Pep Guardiola’s side to miss out on Champions League glory, especially if it means the Reds winning it instead.
It isn’t going to dampen Liverpool’s title celebrations in the slightest if it does happen, however, assuming Jurgen Klopp’s men get over the finish line domestically.
In terms of O’Hara’s comments, choosing who had the better season would be very subjective, depending on where you rank the Premier League and Champions League.
On top of that, club bias could also play a part, with Reds fans focusing mainly on the league and City supporters now hellbent on conquering Europe.
