Manchester United are set to make a move for Liverpool transfer target Timo Werner in the January transfer window.
According to The Mirror, United are poised to swoop in for the RB Leipzig forward as they look to bolster their attacking options for the second half of the campaign.
The report claims that Liverpool would also like to sign him, but United are now preparing to hijack their attempts to bring him to England.

Should Liverpool go all out to stop United from signing Werner?
Yes. As useful as Divock Origi can be at times, Liverpool are lacking depth in the forward areas and Werner is capable of playing in multiple positions across the frontline. This means that he would offer Jurgen Klopp more opportunities to freshen up the team and rotate throughout multiple competitions, helping Liverpool to compete on all fronts.
Not to mention that Werner is an exceptional striker. The German international has already scored nine goals in 10 Bundesliga appearances, after scoring 20+ goals in each of the last three seasons for Leipzig in all competitions. It would also stop United from strengthening their side, which could prevent them from becoming another challenger for the title alongside Liverpool and Manchester City.
