Mane and Salah ‘have ambitions’ to play in Spain, claims journalist

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both ‘have ambitions’ to play in La Liga, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

The African superstars have become modern-day greats at Liverpool, playing huge roles in the Jurgen Klopp revolution.

Both Salah and Mane are integral to the success of the team moving forward, having scored a combined 166 goals in 297 Reds appearances.

Speaking on The Transfer Window podcast on Tuesday, however, Castles claims the Liverpool attackers could be keen on a move to Spain one day:

Liverpool have to look at the replacement strategy for Sadio Mane and Mo Salah who both have ambitions to play in Spain at some point in their career and are coveted by the biggest Spanish clubs.

I understand why any player would jump at the chance to move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, considering the level of prestige that still surrounds both clubs.

That being said, Liverpool are thriving more than most currently, and both Salah and Mane appear to be loved at the club.

I would be very surprised if either moved on this summer, although it wouldn’t shock me if one of them ended up in Spain further down the line.

Salah, in particular, is a global superstar who has a brand he may like to grow further, which I think would increase the chances of him one day leaving for Barca or Madrid.

Gary Neville has claimed that the Egyptian could be using Liverpool as a ‘stepping stone’, and while that may sound a little harsh towards the Reds, there is an element of it that I agree with.
