Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has praised teammate Dominic Solanke after his recent impressive showing against Stoke City, talking to the Liverpool Echo after the game.
Solanke set up the opening goal for Mane in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Stoke on Wednesday evening, and the Senegalese international was quick to heap praise on the young Englishman after a rare start.
When asked about the forward’s progression and performance, Mane said:
I think Dom did really well, he played a great pass through to me for the first goal. He’s still very young but I’ve seen him improve during his first few months at the club. It was great for him to get an opportunity and I am happy for him. I tried to help Dom as much as I could. I know he’s going to get better and better.
Solanke is yet to find the back of the net in a competitive game for his new side since joining on a free transfer from Chelsea, however, boss Jurgen Klopp seems to be impressed with the forward with his cameos off the bench, which earned himself a starting role at Stoke.
With Klopp willing to switch his team around, Solanke may well be starting more Premier League games in the future after his impressive display leading the line at Stoke.
