Max Clark dismisses Liverpool links as “just rumours”

Vitesse left-back Max Clark has provided his response to recent transfer links with Liverpool.

As reported on the Daily Mail, the Reds were said to be keeping tabs on the former Hull City full-back.

However, as quoted on Football Oranje, Clark dismissed the rumours. He said:

Friends sent it to me, but I can tell you it is just rumours. In football, everyone has to deal with rumours, you have to deal with that.

It’s nice to be linked to it. I think everyone would be happy with these teams. It’s great, but it’s rumours.

I want to go to Europe with Vitesse. So I don’t do anything with the rumours. It’s fun for my family and friends, I let them enjoy it. But I leave it behind because I want to stay here.

The former Hull City defender joined the Dutch side in the summer of 2018 and the 23-year-old is now a key figure for the club, playing 17 times in the league so far this season.

Liverpool are truly blessed with a wealth of full-backs. Andy Robertson is one of the best left-backs in world football at the moment and teenager Yasser Larouci has been tipped to be the ideal replacement for the Scot by Talksport.

I feel there’s not really a need for another left-back at the moment, especially because the Reds already have Robertson and Larouci, as well as James Milner who can also fill in as a left-back on certain occasions.
