Napoli charged after Liverpool win in Champions League

Napoli have been charged by UEFA for setting off fireworks and blocking stairways during their 1-0 win over Liverpool on Wednesday.

Lorenzo Insigne scored a late winner to give Napoli the win at home against the Reds, who looked poor on the night.

However, they have been charged with breaching UEFA rules, with fans setting off fireworks in the home end, and stairways being blocked.

These are in breach with UEFA regulations, and the case will now be heard on October 18th.

Liverpool’s next European trip away from home will be against Red Star Belgrade in November, with the Reds hosting the Serbian side, known to many as Crvena Zvezda, first later this month.

Liverpool’s visit to Naples in 2010 was also marred with controversy, with 3 Italians being arrested after attempting to attack visiting Reds supporters at a Europa League tie.
