Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has found an excellent run of form for Liverpool in recent weeks, scoring four goals in as many matches.
The 26-year-old fired home the winner against Genk on Tuesday night, once again showing the quality he has in his armoury.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s performance has led to calls for him to start against Manchester City this weekend, in a huge Premier League clash at Anfield.
That would mean either Jordan Henderson or Gini Wijnaldum likely making way, breaking up Jurgen Klopp’s go-to midfield for big home games.
Someone who doesn’t think Oxlade-Chamberlain should start, however, is former Liverpool favourite Peter Crouch.
Speaking on BT Sport, the popular ex-striker doesn’t believe the Reds’ No.15 is ready for such an important match:
I don’t think he’s quite ready yet.
He’s getting up to full fitness but what he is doing, he’s scoring goals and it’s a priceless commodity to have.
I just think he’s not quite there to be starting games of the magnitude of the weekend but he’s knocking on the door.

Jurgen Klopp has a huge decision to make on Sunday afternoon, with Oxlade-Chamberlain pushing for a start.
It is likely that the German will go with Fabinho, Henderson and Wijnaldum, given the trust he has in them as a unit.
Henderson, in particular, is in poor form, though, and Oxlade-Chamberlain is breathing down his neck.
Judging by recent performances, it won’t be long until the former Arsenal man is back in the starting lineup regularly.
