Player ratings: Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea

Well, thank goodness that’s over. Also thank goodness this Premier League season is all but done with. The Reds’ limp display against Chelsea rather summed up Liverpool’s underwhelming league campaign.

It looks for all the world as though an eighth-place beckons. Nobody wanted to see that.

But the Reds did what the Reds have done pretty well at Anfield of late – snatched a last gasp goal. And it was Christian Benteke, not for the first time in fairness, that came up trumps.

The result means nothing in the grand scheme of things, and it was a match that I’ll probably forget even took place in a few weeks, but it’s good to get into the habit of refusing to be beaten – particularly at home against a side like Chelsea who none of us are keen on.

Each player that was poor tonight is lucky in that everybody else was crap too. So nobody is really in danger of missing out on a place in the team next Wednesday based off this display.

Here are my player ratings.

matchday.
