Miserable. Abject. Shocking. Google had a good one: “woebegone”.
Saturday saw major players in the Premier League drop points, as Liverpool fans licked their lips and rubbed their bellies, waiting as patiently as wolves for Sunday to roll around to watch our Reds batter Newcastle.
And why not? We battered Southampton, we battered Chelsea, we battered Man City!
Relegation sitting Newcastle, ha! Lets get the bets in lads, how many is Joey Allen banging in?
In obvious Liverpool fashion, though, we can batter the big boys all we want, but it’s the walk in the parks that prove the most torturous. A toothless attack couldn’t break down Newcastle’s defence, with the formation and starting XI to blame in this writer’s opinion. It’s a shame to see some things never change, and a loss against Crystal Palace guarantees any later chances to capitalise on other big sides capitulating will be well and truly pissed away.
