Polish goalkeeper in talks with Liverpool

Liverpool look set to sign 16-year-old Polish goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, according to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.

As expected for a kid at such a young age, Grabara will join Neil Critchley’s Under-18s to start with.

The teenager has attracted attention from the likes of Manchester United and City according to newspaper reports in Poland.

He’s currently playing for Ruch Chorzow, who play in the Ekstraklasa (Polish first division).

The young ‘keeper is expected on Merseyside later on in the week. If the talks do indeed go well and everything is agreed, the Polish youth international will partake in a medical before completing his move to the Reds.

Ruch Chorzow’s club president, Dariusz Smagorowicz has been speaking about the potential deal between the two clubs:

“Grabara has been with us (Ruch Chorzow) for 12 years. A few months ago, we signed a contract with him to keep him until 2018. Now, Liverpool want to have him.”

There isn’t an exact transfer fee that is known yet. However, the figure is expected to be a record for the sellers, Ruch Chorzow.

Grabara stands at 1.90m tall, which is equivalent to 6ft 2. In the four games Grabara started for the Under-19s this season, he managed to keep two clean sheets.
