Liverpool recently signed Joel Matip on a pre-contract basis and the defender will join the Reds in the summer when his deal at Schalke expires.
Liverpool have been known to dip into the free agent market in the past. Sometimes it has worked well, such as when we brought in Gary McAllister. Other times it’s worked out horrifically – Joe Cole anybody?
With many fans expecting, or in some cases hoping, for departures, there are still some other players available on free transfers who Liverpool could also bring in if they wish to save the majority of their transfer kitty to spend elsewhere.
So, who are the potential free agents that the Reds could, and maybe should, look at speaking to ahead of potential summer moves?
