PSG willing to offload Liverpool target Draxler

Liverpool’s hopes of signing German international winger Julian Draxler have been boosted after French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain revealed they are willing to sell the player, according to a report on the Express.

Draxler has become increasingly frustrated with the lack of starting opportunities in the star-studded PSG side and is open to making a move away from Paris in an attempt to force his way into the starting Germany side ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has always admired the ex-Schalke player and is considering making a loan move for him in the January transfer window.

However, PSG reportedly want to sell Draxler permanently to boost their financial fair play status and to balance the books.

Draxler has managed to find the back of the net 12 times for PSG and could possibly be the Merseyside club’s replacement for Philippe Coutinho, whose future at the club is still uncertain.

French football expert Julien Laurens believes that Liverpool are in pole position to secure Draxler’s services.

I think Draxler has a lot of clubs that like him, Liverpool for example. It was either PSG or Liverpool when he joined a bit more than a year ago and he chose PSG. So maybe Liverpool is an option for him.

The Reds could face a battle for his signature from German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, who are also reported to be keeping an eye on Draxler’s situation.
