Xherdan Shaqiri will be a ‘bargain’ signing for somebody this summer, according to former England striker Darren Bent.
The Swiss is expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, following two years at the club.
Shaqiri has struggled for playing time in 2019/20, making just two Premier League starts overall.
Speaking to Football Insider, Bent claims the 28-year-old’s rumoured £15 million price tag could be a great deal for one club.
He’s still a good player and when he has been given the opportunities to play, he has done pretty well.
I think that’s quite good – you look at some of the money that some clubs are paying for people, you’d have to say it’s that’s maybe a little bit of a bargain to be fair, to get someone like him.

I think Shaqiri may be wondering what might have been at Liverpool, having failed to set the world alight at Anfield. There was the memorable double against Manchester United, and a Champions League triumph, but he was too often either injured or struggling for playing time.
This could be Shaqiri’s final spell at a genuinely top club, with a summer exit to a lower-ranked team on the cards.
At 28, he still has plenty to offer, but the last two years have shown why he was only at Stoke City when he joined Liverpool in the first place, having previously struggled at Bayern Munich and Inter.
For just £13 million, he wasn’t a risky signing at all, and if the Reds can sell him for more than that, it can be considered great business.
