Reds issue Real Madrid warning: £200m isn’t enough for Salah

Liverpool have warned Real Madrid that not even £200m will be enough to take Mohamed Salah to the Bernebau this summer.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Los Blancos do have an interest in Salah after Zinedine Zidane spoke about the player at the Club World Cup in December.

However, Anfield bosses are determined to keep the majority of the current squad together, having seen them blow Roma away in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final earlier this week.

Salah signed a five-year, £90,000 per week deal when he moved to Merseyside last summer, but Liverpool are keen to offer him improved terms following his sensational performances this campaign.

The Egyptian has scored 43 times in all competitions including two in Tuesday’s semi-final, and also provided a credible 13 assists.

His form has made him an icon at Anfield and earned him the PFA player of the year award, as well as alerting Europe’s top clubs.

The Spanish giants are looking to overhaul their squad this summer after a disappointing league campaign sees them third behind rivals Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Any move for Salah would scupper their chances of signing Neymar, who seemes to be unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain and has not been in the French captial since February due to a foot injury.

Liverpool and Real Madrid could yet meet in the Champions League final next month, after Madrid overcame Bayern 2-1 in the first leg of their semi-final last night.
