Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury Town on Sunday is not a match supporters will look back on fondly.
When this season is done and dusted, and the Reds are hopefully Premier League champions, few will remember a forgettable performance at New Meadow.
Having led 2-0 and looking on course for the FA Cup fifth round, Jurgen Klopp’s side got sloppy, gifting their League One opponents a way back into the tie.
Numerous individuals struggled on the day, with Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Fabinho all way off the pace, having recently returned from injury.
Klopp ended up bringing on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in search of a winner, but they failed to make a difference.
One comical moment involving Salah summed up the evening for Liverpool, with the Egyptian passing to Matip, having assumed he was still on the pitch.
Instead, the defender was walking back to the dugout, having only just been replaced by Salah himself.
These rival supporters mocked the comical moment on Twitter.
