Robertson names Firmino as his ideal Fantasy Premier League pick

Andy Robertson has named Roberto Firmino as his ideal Fantasy Premier League pick out of his Liverpool teammates.

The Brazilian made the move to Anfield from Hoffenheim in 2015 and has scored 74 goals in 222 appearances on Merseyside

Robertson told Fantasy Premier League that he would pick him over anyone else, including Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane:

I would actually go Firmino, I think he’s worth the money.

I think he’s quite cheap, he’s not at the high-end where Salah and Mane are. But he gets the assists, he gets the goals and he’s a regular in our team.

So I think in terms of points for money, I would say Firmino.

Firmino is actually far from the best FPL pick in my opinion, contrary to Robertson’s comments.

The 28-year-old is a wonderful footballer – perhaps Liverpool’s most important player at times, because of his work ethic and link-up play leading the line – but he doesn’t deliver enough numbers.

Granted, Firmino is cheaper than Salah and Mane, but he isn’t a constant stream of goals and assists, like his teammates.

While the South American has six and four to his name in the Premier League this season respectively, Mane (11 and six) and Salah (10 and four) are well ahead.

Liverpool actually suffer most when Firmino doesn’t play, out of the front-three, in my opinion, because he gels the entire attack together, but he can be a letdown from an FPL perspective.
