Salah, Mane and Keita nominated African Player of the Year

Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been nominated for the African Player of the Year, and Anfield bound Naby Keita is also up for the award, the Liverpool Echo report.

The trio have made the 30-man shortlist for the award, for their performances across 2017, with the winner set to be announced in January.

Mane was the Reds top scorer and stand out performer in the Premier League last season, finding the back of the net on 13 occasions.

Salah has also been recognised for the award after his superb season for AS Roma, which also earned him a move to Anfield in a club record deal.

Naby Keita, who was on Jurgen Klopp’s radar all summer before finally putting pen to paper on a deal starting in June 2018, for a fee believed to be in the region of £55 million, was one of Bundesliga’s stand out performers last season, and therefore is no surprise to have been nominated for the award.
