Six Liverpool players set to leave the club this summer

As many as six players could leave Liverpool this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Reds could look to have clear-out at the end of the season, as Jurgen Klopp regenerates his squad.

This report claims that five stars are certainties to move on, with Adam Lallana, Xherdan Shaqiri, Nathaniel Clyne, Loris Karius and Andy Lonergan the individuals in question.

Dejan Lovren is also mentioned as the sixth, with the Croatian’s Liverpool future still up in the air.

I think Liverpool would be right to move on all of these players this summer, including Lovren.

The centre-back, Lallana and Clyne feel like players from a different era at Anfield, with the team going up a gear and leaving them behind quality-wise.

All three are not exactly reliable fitness-wise, too, which is an added reason to sell them.

Shaqiri hasn’t done enough to justify staying on, scoring just seven times in two seasons and he’s been rather injury-prone, too.

Karius and Lonergan’s exits would also make perfect sense too, perhaps allowing Caoimhin Kelleher more of an opportunity to push Adrian as second-choice goalkeeper.

Getting rid of all six players could provide the Reds some funds to spend on some new signings, as Klopp will looks to make his squad even more formidable.
