Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has returned to full training after having surgery on his hip, report the Guardian.
The England international went under the knife in the United States in May but has been at Melwood for over three weeks.
Sturridge has carried out his rehabilitation with the Boston Red Sox medical staff and joined Brendan Rodgers and the rest of the first team squad for a full training session on Thursday.
The Guardian’s Andy Hunter says that the Reds will assess the striker before making a decision on whether or not he will feature against Manchester United on Saturday.
The 25-year-old had an injury plagued season last term after suffering with thigh, hip, and calf problems and only managed to make 18 appearances.
The forward’s return comes at an important time for Rodgers as Liverpool face a hectic period with the start of the Europa League group stage and their entry into the Capital One Cup.
The report in the Guardian claims that midfielders Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana are also a doubt for the Reds’ trip to Old Trafford as they haven’t returned to full training since picking up foot and thigh injuries.
