Liverpool could pull off the signing of Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic, says German football writer Raphael Honigstein.
The likes of Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been linked with a move to Anfield since Jurgen Klopp took the reigns, but Subotic is a more likely target according to Honigstein.
“His former CEO and chairman at Dortmund said Klopp wouldn’t target any of his players,” the author and journalist told BT Sport.
“There is probably a deal to be made with Subotic, who has been out of favour.

“He is one of the few players who was personally picked by Klopp for Dortmund when he was at Mainz.
“Most of the players were bought by the club rather than him.”
Subotic has made 244 appearances for Dortmund since moving to the Westfalenstadion in 2008.
The 26-year-old was an important member of the outfit that toppled Bayern Munich two years on the trot to lift the Bundesliga title in 2011 and 2012.
The Serb also played 90 minutes in the Champions League final in 2013, where Dortmund narrowly lost out to Bayern.
Liverpool’s current centre-back options consist of Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure.
Only Sakho out of those four is unanimously popular with Reds fans, and with Toure ageing and Lovren struggling to adapt to the club, a new central defender may be on Klopp’s shopping list come January or the summer.
