Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he plans to take a break from football once his time at Liverpool comes to an end.
The 52-year-old’s contract at Anfield expires in 2022, with no current signs that he will extend his stay at the club.
In quotes provided by Forbes‘ Manuel Veth, Klopp outlined his plans to take a post-Liverpool sabbatical:
I will take a sabbatical after my time at Liverpool.
When I decide for myself that I can’t give everything anymore I will quit. Who can say three years from now whether he can do everything or nothing?
When that happens I will take a break for a year, that decision will come at the end of the season.
[But] the likelihood is high that my energy levels will be where I need them to do this job.
Needless to say, some Liverpool fans have been rocked by the German’s comments, airing their thoughts on Twitter.

Why is Klopp talking about leaving? Surely he can't leave after only 7 years in 2022??? I had hoped he'd stay until he was 60/65. https://t.co/C4LkJJaVGz

Klopp’s comments are sure to strike fear into Reds fans, considering the job he is doing as manager.
The German has completely transformed the club since arriving in October 2015, turning them into European champions in under four years.
The hope is that Klopp will eventually extend his deal, but he is not someone who will necessarily go back on his word.
If he decides he needs a break then that’s exactly what he will do, which would clearly be a huge blow to the Reds.
It’s still three years away, however, so here’s hoping that his rumoured sabbatical comes a little further down the line.
