After recently signing a new deal with the Liverpool, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been recalled to the England squad, as previously reported by the Times’ Paul Joyce.
The last time the midfielder played for England was back in March 2018, before suffering a horrific cruciate ligament injury during a Champions League semi-final against Roma.

He has done enough so far this season to convince Gareth Southgate that he should be recalled, however.
Liverpool fans could not resist reacting to Oxlade-Chamberlain’s call-up, taking to Twitter to give their thoughts.
Sort of good news. Pleased for him as long as he can stay fit🤞

No, this is good. Great for his morale and he will get the game time he needs. He just needs to play now

Happy for him but hope they manage his minutes carefully and don't injure him

This can only be a positive thing for the Liverpool midfielder, with so many positives surrounding his England return, namely caps, experience and morale.
That being said, this could also be a negative.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has still only recently returned from an ACL injury and he is still very much finding his feet.
This could, therefore, be too soon and set him back even further if he isn’t quite ready.
With fixtures piling up in December due to the FIFA Club World Cup, it is essential that Chamberlain’s fitness is up to scratch for Liverpool.
