Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Alisson will still be out of action for Liverpool for the foreseeable future, despite progress being made.
The Brazilian has not featured for the Reds since injuring his calf at home to Norwich City on the opening day of the Premier League season.
Speaking in his pre-Burnley press conference on Friday, Klopp provided an update on Alisson’s fitness:
He made steps but it’s a proper injury so it will still take time.
When you have a muscle thing that takes long, it takes time to bring the muscle to the same level that it was before.
These Liverpool fans have been reacting to the news on Twitter, with some worried about the situation.

The concern surrounding Klopp’s update is understandable, considering Alisson’s importance to the team.
In the past, when the club have remained relatively tight-lipped about an injury, the player in question has ended up missing a long chunk of action.
Were Alisson’s injury not too serious, the likelihood is that Klopp would already be pencilling in a comeback date for him.
Hopefully, though, the Brazilian should be somewhere close to a return in the middle of the two upcoming international breaks in September and October.
Liverpool need him back as soon as possible, with all due respect to Adrian, who is currently filling in.
