“Too late. Damage is done” – Liverpool fans refuse to accept Sinclair’s apology

“Too late. Damage is done” – Liverpool fans refuse to accept Sinclair’s apology

Trevor Sinclair produced an awful Twitter post on Tuesday evening, in which he referred to Liverpool as ‘bin dippers’.

It came after Manchester City had won 4-1 away to Burnley, with Sinclair saying the pressure was on the Reds to respond, using the derogatory term in the process.

The tweet has since been deleted and Sinclair has offered an apology:

These Liverpool supporters are not accepting it for one second, however, claiming there is little remorse shown from the former City and England player.

Being tribal in football is one thing, but using such a horrible term is completely out of order.

There is a feeling that Sinclair has simply been caught out, with his apology something he had to do, rather than chose to do.

It is unacceptable for such a horrible term to still be used, especially at a time when homelessness and poverty are so rife.

Sinclair has tarnished his own reputation for good.
