Liverpool have been charged by UEFA after fans ran onto the pitch during the pulsating 4-3 victory over Red Bull Salzburg at Anfield, as reported on the Mirror.
The fine for a first field invasion offence in a year from UEFA is 5000 Euros (£4458).

There were two separate spectator incidents during the game. The first was halfway through the second period when a fan ran onto the pitch from the Anfield Road End before being tackled by stewards.
The second incident occurred after the full time whistle, when some fans came onto the pitch in an attempt to get the shirts of their Liverpool heroes.
Salzburg have also been charged for throwing things onto the pitch and the matter will be discussed by UEFA’s control, ethics and disciplinary body on 17th October.
Something needs to be done, right?

These fans are putting Liverpool in hot water with UEFA and it is very damaging to the global image of the club.
Just last year, the Reds were fined £17,800 by UEFA for the damage that the fans did to Manchester City’s team bus.
Unfortunately, all the club can do is advise the fans to behave in the best way possible, but harsher punishments need to be handed out for these pitch invaders to ensure that others don’t take inspiration from them.
