Liverpool looked shaky at the back in their last game without Van Dijk, which shows just how great of an impact he has on the team. His presence is truly missed when he is unable to play, which is the sign of a world-class player. Liverpool have quality throughout their squad, but Van Dijk is on another level of his own.
The Dutch defender has been incredible since his move from Southampton and him finishing a close second to Lionel Messi in the Ballon d’Or voting tells you everything you need to know. Liverpool will now be hoping that he can lead them to a third trophy this year, after so many years without a trophy on Merseyside.
