Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk will not be signing for Liverpool today, according to The Mirror.
The report claims that Southampton have held firm over their desire to keep the defender.
This is despite Van Dijk handing in a transfer request earlier this month, in a bid to force a move away.
Although there has been plenty of speculation over his future, it is believed that Southampton never actually received a bid for him during the window.

The report also claims that Liverpool were hopeful of Southampton altering their stance and allowing them to make a move, but were ultimately unrewarded for their patience.
Liverpool will also not be signing Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco. The French side are unwilling to let the winger sign for the club after selling a number of players this summer.
The signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be the club’s last this summer, it seems.
