Van Dijk has beaten off competition from all-time greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were second and fourth respectively.
Interestingly, Mohamed Salah (third) finished ahead of Sadio Mane (fifth) – something a number of Liverpool supporters would disagree with.
