Wilder reveals why “refreshing” Klopp is different from his peers

Jurgen Klopp is a special character and Liverpool couldn’t be led by a better manager currently.

The Reds won their 16th Premier League game in a row on Saturday afternoon, edging out Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane.

It preserved Liverpool’s 100 percent record in the league so far this season, keeping them five points clear of Manchester City.

Speaking after the game, Blades manager Chris Wilder explained how he shared a post-match drink with Klopp, hailing him for being more outgoing than most other managers:

I’m not a connoisseur of champagne, I don’t really drink a lot to be honest, but it was great to sit in a room with him.

We’ve had a beer and chatted about the game. It’s quite refreshing because I don’t get that feel with some managers in the Premier League, which is disappointing.

We’ve always had an open door policy here, so it is good to chat.

Klopp is not just a world class manager, with his personality and sportsmanship also shining through.

He didn’t have to sit down with Wilder after the victory, but he sees the value in respecting the opposition and it clearly meant a great deal to his opponent.

Liverpool supporters should never take Klopp for granted, with no other manager on the planet more well-suited to the Reds.

He oozes class, is taking Liverpool to remarkable heights and will hopefully still be around for many years to come.
