Young Reds rewarded with international roles

When you shine under the spotlight, the stage can get even bigger. That’s certainly the case for several young Reds who have been rewarded for their strong performances with invitations to represent England.

Jordan Rossiter, who made his first team debut in Monday’s dramatic draw away at Arsenal, received a call-up to the England Under-19 squad. He’s joined by another 18-year-old, Sheyi Ojo.

Ojo, who is on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers, earned the Man of the Match award after scoring his first goal for Wolves in Tuesday’s victory over Barnet in the Capital One Cup. Those two young men have had quite a week.

The England Under-19s have matches away at Germany and Croatia September 4 and 7, respectively.

Two Liverpool Academy players have also earned call-ups.

Midfielder Cameron Brannagan and forward Ryan Kent will be representing England at the Under-20 level. The Under-20s take on Czech Republic in Shrewsbury on September 7.

Best of luck to these young Reds and all the Liverpool players who will be representing their countries in the upcoming international fixtures.
