Zinedine Zidane claims Real Madrid will “eliminate” Liverpool if they face them in the Champions League this season.
The Liga giants beat the Reds in the final in 2018, winning 3-1 on a disastrous night for Loris Karius.
Liverpool have only grown since that point, though, while Madrid have gone backwards.
The two sides could meet in the last-16, with Monday’s draw deciding their fate.
Zidane isn’t worried about facing Europe’s most in-form team, however, telling the media that his side will knock them out if they come up against them:
If we play Liverpool, we will eliminate them. We can’t do anything about the draw.

In fairness to Zidane, he said this with a smile on his face, but it is still tempting fate.
A number of individuals have made bold claims about beating Liverpool in recent years, only for their words to backfire.
The Reds will be out for revenge if they are pitted against Madrid, following such a heartbreaking night in Kiev.
They are one of five teams that Jurgen Klopp’s men could face in the draw, with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Atalanta the others.
