Belgian side Anderlecht are not disappointed at the failure of not completing a move for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic, according to Het Laaste Nieuws, via Inside Futbol.
A deal between Anderlecht and Liverpool fell through on deadline day. The Serb insists it was not due to his wage demands but Anderlecht claim the opposite, underlining the financial difficulties as the problem.
Markovic previously spent the second half of last season on loan at Anderlecht, where he made eight appearances, recording an uninspiring total of one goal and one assist. It was partly down to this that Anderlecht were content with their eventual failure to sign him.

Anderlecht Director of Football Luc Devroe told the Belgian outlet HLN:
Look at his stats of the last two seasons: a few games with Anderlecht. That’s it.
Devroe did confirm that Les Mauves et Blancs were in talks with Liverpool, however.
We were in talks with him. But we are not unhappy that he didn’t come. He could have signed, but only on our conditions.
The option for a January loan move doesn’t seem very likely given the breakdown in talks but if a deal is to be struck, Markovic will almost certainly have to lower his financial demands.
