Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn has not travelled with the first-team for their pre-season tour of the USA.
The 16-year-old has been one of the stars of the summer so far, scoring twice in the Reds four opening games.
But boss Jurgen Klopp has taken the decision to leave Woodburn, who completed his GCSEs just weeks ago, at home.
However, Klopp has decided to take fellow youngsters Shamal George, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria to North America.
Liverpool will take on Premier League rivals Chelsea in Pasadena, then Serie A side Roma in Santa Clara as part of the side’s International Champions Cup campaign.
The Reds will then face Roma in Boston, before returning to the UK to face Barcelona at Wembley Stadium in their final game of the International Champions Cup.
Woodburn could yet feature against the La Liga giants and may even have some part to play in the Reds domestic season, but for now at least, it seems the teenager’s progression to the senior squad has been put on ice.
